Driver from Bronaugh seriously injured in crash on U.S. 160

A man from Bronaugh, Missouri in Barton County was injured in a crash on U.S. 160 about 2 1/2 miles west of Lamar around 4:20 Thursday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report says the accident occurred when 37-year-old Alex Meier of Bronaugh, driving west, attempted to pass an uninvolved vehicle in a 2018 Ford Edge and struck the side of an eastbound 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 54-year-old Brian Johnson of Lamar.

Meir was seriously injured.  He transported by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

Johnson suffered no injuries.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices.
