Dagnan fired as Carthage City Administrator

Carthage City Administrator Greg Dagnan has officially been fired.

On Thursday, Carthage Mayor Dan Rife informed Dagnan that he would not stand in the way of a City Council vote to fire the controversial city employee.

He said in a statement posted on the City of Carthage website he did that on advice of counsel.

Just two weeks ago, Dagnan filed a wrongful termination lawsuit.

Dagnan stated in the lawsuit he felt he was targeted because he decided to report that city funds had been stolen by Carthage city employees

The council is still scheduled to hold a hearing to impeach Mayor Rife.

That hearing is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5th.
